Niminy Piminy Cries

On the 17th March 2008, Blondy (our hamster with one red-colored eye and the other is black colored) had delivered to 9 babies. Yet outta helter-skelter she’d spared only 1 male baby that we named him Tinky Winky. Apart being well taken care of, he’s also got most of his mother milk…alone…I mean. Eventually by 2 weeks old, he’d grown just like the harvest moon, with 5 cm long. But one thing we notice is that, only 1 eye appeared to be normal, yet the left side looked kinda abnormal. It could hardly open…poor baby…
No doubt he’s hapless, he would often stay alert….While he’s only 21 days old, his mom, Blondy escaped from their cage and undeliberately entered a male hamster cage and walla, the next mating occurred and so she got conceived again and started to reject Tinky Winky. Poor boy, since he got bitten while trying to lactate. We decided to separate them. Starting from that moment onwards, he’s a “lone ranger” but coward though….He’ll cry when he hears noises, thunder and lightning including when we try to hold him. We can’t put him together with other females because he’ll only be looking for a tit!

So now we made him a tiny blanket and eventually he got less coward and started to grow 9 cm long. No hamster could ever dare to grab on his blanky because he’ll cry and slowly get it back even under one hamster bump (hihi). Most of the time while napping, he’ll place the blanky under his head, how cute!

Then one day, during day time where most hamsters had their good-day sleep, we had our videocam on to capture Tinky Winky first video. Without knowing that he’ll be restless from our call, we’ve captured his niminy-piminy cries for being disturbed from his good-day sleep….such a big cute baby cry! Watch video on Youtube!... Sorry Tinky Winky – we won’t disturb you again, promise =)

There She Goes...

Angel is one of my hamsters with red eyes and white thick fur. She's a single mother (coz she won't let her husband live with her) with 7 growing-up babies. Although she is not so tame (love to attack our fingers) but she loves her babies so much and had never ate her young like some of our hamsters (it was not like there aren't enough food or anything...it was just an unexplainable situation). Though, she is a very strict mother. Never let her babies went upstairs. She would carried them down with her mouth even when her babies are big enough for her to carry.
Last night, when I returned home, my brother said Angel escaped from her cage. So were her babies. However, her babies were still lingering around the cage but their mother was already in my room. He managed to put them back in their cage while I checked around my room for any unwanted "leftover". Thank God the room was clear. Felt relieved also when Angel is not harm when she was wandering by herself without any supervision. If anything happened to Angel last night, I was to be blamed because I was the one who didn't lock her cage back.
So with a good feeling, I switch on the television. I started to watch my favourite series. When advertisement, I started to change the channel to see what was on the other channels. However, when I was trying to change to channel 1, my finger felt strange as if the remote button is.....is.....is gone! Somebody ate my remote button!...Awwwww........Angel!
